8 - Eagle Attitude G:
Feed

Psalm 37
A Psalm of David.
1 Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
NKJV

We have been discussing the commands in Psalm 37:3. Today we will focus on the command that we are to "feed on His faithfulness".

To feed on something means that you take that substance into yourself continually, over a period of time.

So how do we go about taking the faithfulness of God into ourselves so we become saturated?

To feed our inner person on the faithfulness of God means that we find ways of holding His faithfulness before us constantly so that our consciousness is totally taken up with what the faithfulness of our Father in heaven means to us, and can achieve in us. One way of doing this is to practice the concept of counting our blessings.

An old song says it this way:
Count your blessings, Name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, See what God has done.

When we begin to speak the individual blessings of our heavenly Father in our lives ONE BY ONE, something wonderful begins to happen inside us. The attitude of gratitude we talked about a few days ago begins to take us over. That attitude connects us to God's fountain of joy, which fills us with His strength. Our whole perspective begins to change from frustration, fretting and envy, to one of gratitude, joy and strength.

For some people, it makes more sense to write out the blessings point by point in a journal, so that the joy of the Lord can begin to change your perspective.

For others, it helps to make a scrapbook to record the blessings of God. Whatever method of counting your blessings works for you, get going with it.

Whether it is by speaking the blessings, writing the blessings down, or making a scrap book to show the blessings; do what brings them home to you with most reality. This will cause you to stand in the evil day and be triumphant over the evil one in this situation.

Eagles RISE UP and feed on God's faithfulness.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for all the many blessings with which You shower me on a daily basis.
Help me to remember the all and to thank You for each one with a heart full of gratitude today,
in the name of Your precious gift, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Amen.
